    Perspective mode for bed fishing

This is my first year with Livescope (LVS34) and it’s been a great tool in forward mode during the prespawn this spring. The fish will be moving up onto beds around here shortly and I’m planning to use perspective mode when bed fishing, especially for smallmouth. Does anyone have any tips on settings? One thing I’ve heard is that the factory mount can be problematic in shallow water since the angle can’t be adjusted in perspective mode. Are people using the factory mount successfully to fish 2-6 feet of water and if not are there recommendations on alternatives?

The factory mount is fine for less than 10ft of water. If you want to use perspective mode in more than 10ft then you need something aftermarket.

I have an lvs32 transducer and have had success with both the garmin perspective mount and the fishobsessed mount that I currently have.

The nice thing about the fishobsessed mount is the 0 degree offset which makes it way easier for me to track my bait in forward mode. It also allows you to fine tune angle in perspective mode like xxstang90 says. Last night, I was fishing in 6fow or less and the transducer was horizontal.

Starting settings, I recommend lowering gain about 10% less than what you use in forward. I like the black emerald or amber color schemes as well, where in forward I have been using amber or blue.

This was in 8ft of water at fork a few weeks ago, it’s a Lvs34 on a fish obsessed mount and 1 click down from flat. Get the FO 0 degree mount.

For those of you that use the Fish Obsessed mount, when you change from Forward Mode to Perspective Mode while on the water, do you have to change any settings on your graph? I.E. if you have forward settings dialed in, will they translate to perspective?

I typically find a bit lower gain on perspective is better... maybe dropping it down 5 or so - but that is with any mount, not just FO.
