    Removing trolling motor wires problems

Upgrading trolling motor wires from 6ga to 4ga for Garmin force. Problem is wires are secured in place by cable straps that are not accessible. Has anyone had any luck removing these wires? This is on a 1999 Triton TR20.

    Nope!

I cut mine short and put wire nuts on them and called it good.

My new trolling motor wires are in their own expandable type (think rod glove style) sleeve to keep things a little cleaner.

Im surprised yours came with a 6ga wire harness from the factory. I think mine were 10ga for the 12/24v harness and breaker setup on a 2002 tr-185.
