You would be surprised what little things like that do and they know. I have a few friends in fabrication at a few shops and I have heard some crazy stuff that makes a huge difference on plate tracks that they cant do. Remember like maybe 10 yrs ago they DQ'd a Rousch car for having the oil tank cap loose that sits behind the drivers seat?? Yeah thats 100lbs on the left rear generated by the pressure difference inside the car.

I had the chance to change tires on a arca car a few races and while the tech isnt as brutal its still tough.

Yeah, Remember the Championship Mark Martin lost because of the points deduction because the carb spacer was bolted instead of welded. WTFLUKE!!!!!

"Bolted".....and probably left loose intentionally or had hollow and drilled out bolts to bleed more air into the motor

Have a friend years ago who rigged up a button on the floor. When the button was pushed the spoiler on the back tilted down a few degrees.

Not being welded was all they found to be the issue.

The tech that goes into the cars nowadays any little mod can make a big difference so they have to have rules that may seem extravagant

Talked to a friend of mine yesterday that was the under car guy on Jessie Loves car last season. He didn't say too much about the truck arm being loose except saying they blew it. That truck arm was his job last year.
Some things they look at every race.

    Same here.
I went to many Nascar, Indy, short tracks, and IMSA races.
Soon I started losing interest but still somewhat followed.
Two months ago I returned to the 12 Hours of Sebring which brought back many memories.
I completely gave up Nascar once Bubba pulled that crap and brought the BLM into racing.
I sort of miss following racing but the guys I followed don't race anymore.

The rules of stock car racing have always been tough..... Remember it's the sport with the motto: "If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying."

And a garage pull cord wrapped in a knot from the wind can start a full FBI investigation. I gave up on nascar

I'm about 30% of a fan that I was years ago. With NASCAR being the supplier for every part, the next thing will be teams will buy a fully assembled car from NASCAR and just add the driver.
