Need some new luggage for travel: suggestions please

I need a carry on bag for airline travel this summer. I’m not interested in checking luggage for it to be lost.
What do you regular travelers use. ?

    Hard sided?

    Soft sided?

    Wheels or not?

brands or design you recommend I appreciate your feedback.

We have two hard sided carry on bags with wheels that turn 360* and a handle that pulls up. I don't recall the brand, but they were not expensive.

I use a soft sided Ogio that is just big enough for one weeks worth of clothes and it houses my laptop, mouse, and power supply…notebook, pens, and corp phone too.. Wheels and a telescoping handle is a must if you find yourself running through the AP to catch your next flight. Soft sides are easier to squeeze into the overhead when the jack wagon 4 isles away decides to occupy the overhead space above your isle…you know who you are.

Soft sided allows you to cram your bag in the overhead space when space is at a premium hard side usually have wheels for easier travel to and from gates. I prefer soft side because of the occasional flight on smaller planes that have smaller overhead bins.
