first time I ever noticed that.I know you can buy skeg guards.I wonder if I could make one that has a little more bevel in it that would help with torque steer at wot?I'm going to do the water block off so I can raise my plate more,but the more i raise the more torque steer I get.
If you raise the motor and find a sweet spot with a little less trim that steering T may go away.. if not prop work may help also.. Bobs Machine shop has a add on T tab... I personally don't like the skeg guards for performance but that is just my opinion on them
I agree with Lou.... don't tamper with the Torque Tab or Skeg if AT ALL POSSIBLE TO AVOID.
Proper setup, mounting height, and trim will eventually lead to reduced steering torque.
Setup info.... such as What prop, jackplate/setback, hull, RPM, Speed and Water pressure (at WOT)?

I have run both cylynders and not seen/felt any noticable difference.. If your getting a new system by all means get the 6345 but there is no reason to upgrade a good working 5345 cylnder.. JMHO

U-Flex also offers a "very robust" replacement cylinder (can be used in place of the 5345 or 6345 Seastar). Heavy duty... and we've had REALLY good service out of them.

Teleflex also makes a SeaStar Power Assist unit to run with the SeaStar hydraulic steering systems.
This is true power steering -- like your car or truck, only easier. Weighs about 9 pounds.
Zero steering torque -- whether at 20 mph or 80 mph.
