Anyone else order any of these? I grabbed a couple...hoping it's in the same ballpark as the old Shikari P7000.

The rod you want if they still are in production is the G Loomis PR 8400S, the P 700, IP700, and PP700 were copies of that rod, the builder of the Shikari plant Don Mook used to work with Gary Loomis, All Star, and others. The P700 X Ray is lighter powered and a slower actioned blank. BFS angling was what it was designed for. 4 to 6 lb. line, vs 6 to 12 on the Shikari blanks, with a softer and faster tip than you would expect and firming up to a butt you would find on a 2 power popping blank. I happen to have a PP700 SHX blank still if you are interested, I used them for dropshotting and finesse some cut the butt back to 6ft. 9 in. when that length rod was popular, I saw no purpose. The All Star BAST 813 T blank had a similar fast tip but was built slightly more powerful overall tip to butt, 8-14 lb. line if I remember right, the Titanium series Tops and Tails blank/rod.

I plan on getting one, but my purpose will be for an ultralight trout spinning rod. Not sure if I really wanted it in 7ft, but I figured I’d play with it when I got it.
Thanks, I appreciate the offer on the PP700 but I'm probably all set. I have a P7000 I picked up that George Roth built a long time ago, it's a fun little rod that I use for light drop shot especially when they're deep. More of a fun fishing rod for me.
I like that they keep expanding the offerings in C602. I do hope that one day they make the MB7108 in C602. That's the area I think they are missing right now in the line up. Something for heavier jigs, frogs, c-rig etc. I have a couple of the C602 SWB 806's on order hoping that they'll fill that gap but they haven't shown up yet. I did build a SWB 808 into a punch rod and it's a beast for that but really not of much use on anything under an ounce.
Will, not sure when you ordered you SWB 806 C6O2 blank, but I ordered one of them back on Feb 10th, and I got word late last week that they had just got the material in and that my blank may ship this coming Friday. I just got done checking my e mail, and I had a shipped e mail from NFC. The order being shipped ended up being an order I had placed for a DS 760 C6O2 blank that I had ordered about 2 weeks after I ordered the 806 SWB. That's telling me they got the material in, so I am hoping I will be getting an e mail saying order shipped for that one as well.
Like you, I was looking for something heavier in the C6O2 line up to build into a heavy cover flipping and pitching rod. I'll be trimming it down to 7'6" though. Even as insanely light as the C6O2 blanks are, and the fact I'll be putting Fuji Torzites on it, if I left it at 8' it's bound to be tip heavy just because of the length ahead of the reel seat. For me personally, anything with a rear grip longer than 10 1/2" just doesn't work for me for a flipping and pitching rod. So I won't go with a longer rear grip than that. Just have to see how it mocks up. Really looking forward to getting it though.
I'm up in the air as far as grips go. I'm thinking maybe the split carbon Am Tack G2, or I may pick up a couple of Syncork grips and see what that's like.
I built a rod earlier on a DS 760 C6O2 blank after seeing what you and a couple of others said about the blank. I haven't put it a real test yet, but I've tried it a bit, and it is sweet !!! Word is the smallmouth are really chomping at one of the inland lakes I fish, and while I should really pre fish a lake I have a tournament coming up on in 2 weeks, I may just head out to that smallmouth lake. Be a chance to give the DS 760 a real try, and to get dialed in using the new FFS unit I put on my boat late last year.
I placed 2 orders, one on 1/23 and one on 3/5. I'll cut mine down too, 7'6" or 7'4". You should check out the GAHO seats. I've used the MLC16 a couple of times and I really like it. The HTS16 is probably my new favorite spinning seat also.
I may use the XO Skeleton grip I got for the SWB. Will just have to see how it all looks and feels.
I just looked up some of the GAHO stuff they look cool. I see a spinning reel seat I want to try. I like that they post the weights. But, it is weird that my regular Fuji ECS casting reel seats and NPS spinning real seats are lighter than the fancy CCT reel seats. I would have expected them to be lighter than the standard, been around forever Fuji models.
Will ..... just curious if you've gotten an e mail saying your SWB 806 C6O2 blanks have shipped? Haven't gotten anything at all on my end.
The C6O2 material is a trusted foundry material and not always available, especially when you are a minor user of the material compared to the other industries that use it. One of the reasons we wait longer, we are not buying the same old easier to source 2013 or earlier carbons. Months before they ever sold the first C6O2 rod they had posted videos and info about it and its limited availability.

I order in November. Called over a dozen times left about 4 to 5 emails. Finally got threw and they said they were busy with all the sales going on that they should just be getting to those orders. They have a wait time up to 4 months. They have the worst customer service ever. I have heard others even asking for their money back and not receiving it.
Warning if you buy from this company be prepared for a long wait time and have to have a lot of patience. As I’ve been waiting 5 months now for 1 blank.
Yes, I know the C6O2 material is limited availability. Through an e mail reply I learned that they had just gotten the material in, and that those blanks are top on the list. (C6O2 blanks I guess) That was a couple of weeks ago.
Last week I received a C6O2 blank that I had ordered 2 months prior. At the time the promotional e mails simply stated, "extended lead times". Ok fine, extended lead times = 2 months. I'm good with that. Here's the thing .... the blank I received, which also was a C6O2 blank, is a blank that I ordered almost 2 weeks after I ordered the SWB 806 C6O2 blank. When I ordered the SWB 806 it said 45 days. Ok, reasonable .... It is now 78 days.
In the past I have had a longer wait to receive a C6O2 blank because they were waiting on the material, so the finding out they were waiting on the material was and is not a problem for me. I've also come to find out several different times, that blanks get built based on mandrel availability. Ok, understandable, I guess. Just disappointed that the blank I ordered almost 2 weeks prior, was not the blank I received last week. 2nd tournament of the year is this Saturday, so no go as far as having the rod built in time for me to use it.
Next tournament after that is on May 31st. Fingers crossed that I receive the blank in time to build it to use in that tournament.
I've just stopped worrying about how long it takes, just have to reconcile yourself to the fact that I will get them eventually. For the price when on sale the blanks are great. I haven't gotten any confirmation on the SWB C602's but have received a few orders including a bunch of guides that I placed after the SWB C602 order.
It’s just not the c602 that is a long wait it is all blanks. Order a Muskie blank can’t even remember which one since it’s been so long. 5 months later finally shipping so hopefully yours will be on the way.
Must be we are some of the old(er) guys that used to hangout on the BFHP. Dragon1, I think you were Van????? I remember George Roth. Danco is the one who got me started on building rods. My wife saw my posts there and surprised me with having reached out to Danco and got what I needed to build my first custom rod. Loomis CBR 845.
Yeah, same here, I was either Jfish or Jmac on the BFHP. Both, George Roth and Rich Forhan built a rod or two for me, both were super nice guys and always willing to help out with rod questions. I always wondered what happened to Danco, Binkwood and a few others, those were the Good Ole Days for sure.
