Matt at Amped Outdoors once told me to put a wire . like just a 16 ga from the cranking bat negative to the neg on the dedicated elec bat for similar issue I had .The motor has a water ground , nothing else does and maybe picking it up thru the water as the beam is shooting right at it and the alum plate .
I solved mine by using a separate charger on the electronics battery , my noco multi bank was transferring between crank bat and electronics bat , I first just disconnected it by pulling the fuse on that lead , sounds like you already did that .
Are you using the crank bat for trolling mtr , or do you have a separate battery for it ? if seperate try a wire from neg of it to the crank bat also
