Buying a rod blind. Sort of. ALX rod

Still looking for a square bill rod to fit my needs. I have a few alx rods. 2 toadfaces, 2 ikos. Alex told me once he used the buzz 7 ikos for a long time for squarebills until he made the hustler which is glass and I don’t want glass. I fish around d cypress trees, lots of lay downs and jetties and pilings etc. short roll casts mostly. I will throw bx brats and kvd 1.5s exclusively. Anyone have this rod and use it for square bills? All of my alx rods have good backbone and are light. Any help will be appreciated

The buzz is a good squarebill rod. So is the dream. Also good spinnerbait rods, and I threw up to dt-10s with them.

My next rod for small cranks and squarebills will be the Zolo Crank. Sounds perfect for throwing Echo 1.75 squarebills. Might fit your needs.

I just received an ALX Hover yesterday. Hoping to try it out soon. I think it'll go nicely with all my other AlX rods. They've all been great thus far.

When spoke with him 2 years ago he recommended the buzz7 for my sees because it has a father tip and less parabolic which is good for hard cover like I have here. In fact he used the buzz for years himself so I am basing everything on what he said.

I have a couple Hustler's and have used one for shallow cranks like a DT6. I know its not a square bill but i find that rod to be "to much" for a small cb. Love using it for a DT8 or bigger. Also with the Buzz 7 rod, used it for vibrating jig and frog but i could see it being a great rod for SB.

Overall, love all of my ALX rods and plan on getting more.....

I have 6 or 8 now. They’re all good rods. Wouldn’t hesitate buying one.

I have 4 right now. 2 toad faces. one for swim jigs and one for frogs. by far the best rods I have. 2 hammers. one 7'3 heavy and one 7 heavy. they are stiff but I like that for texas rig and jigs. I should have bought the buzz a long time ago

Very rarely does ones reputation live up to the hype......In the case of Alex and ALX rods the man and product exceed the legend. Never bought 1 before, called ALX and spoke to Alex. Cordial, informative and fast shipping. Very happy with my first of what will be many rods. IMHO, great service, very good product and an excellent value. When a guy tells you to buy the less expensive rod because it is a better value and fit.....THAT is integrity and service.
