    Lowrance Ghost Problem

I'm having issues with my new ghost trolling motor. Anchor lock works good until it is windy. Yesterday it went crazy on me. Spun around and made clicking/grinding noises. Took it out of anchor mode and it seemed to work OK but I noticed the direction arrow was off. I had just done the calibration a week ago. Frustrating.
    Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

The grinding noise tells me you need to do a head pedal calibration. Have you done the "on the water GPS calibration" also?

I did the pedal calibration and also went in the circle if that's the on water GPS calibration. Did these before it acted up. It was very windy when it happened and I think that might have had something to do with it. Sounded pretty terrible and I hope there is no damage on the inside.

You may have a damaged belt or gear....prolly time to pop the top off the head and inspect for damage and timing.

Just a PSA, if you remove the top cover, the warranty technically becomes void. Not sure how they could tell if you removed the cover if you do a good job of it - but since you just bought it, I'd hesistate to give up a 3 year warranty. If you have an ASC local that would be the better option.

FWIW, I find the Ghost Anchor mode a pretty poor implementation. Mine seems to have a mind of it's own at times, and sometimes works fine...

My belt will occasioanlly make that skipping/slipping sound, prety sure my belt got chewed up a bit on a hard stump impact recently. Been meaning to order a belt, actually.

My Anchor lock would do the same every once in awhile , i got in the habit of double tapping the anchor button and it stopped it ,, was used to doing that with my previous Ultrex as well

It's weird mine works most of the time but when it's windy, when you would need it most, it goes bonkers.
