    Poppet Valve install!?

Hello I am running a 2009 Pro Xs 250 optimax serial number 1B764513. I have ordered everything to rebuild the poppet valve I understand pretty much the most of it but every video I find does not show orientation of the (carrier grommet) or the other rubber grommet behind or in front. All videos only show the build of the poppet valve but not the install/carrier grommet or the 2nd grommet. Any help would be appreciated. I’m sure when I pull it apart it will make sense but I thought any help before my off day from working on cars lol! would be greatly appreciated. Once again thanks!

You can stake rubber? I would see knocking it in with a 30mm socket put don’t understand staking it?

Give me a run down. Am I staking the rubber on the edge or the plate assembly on the edge. Also what are you using? Just a punch to give it some hold. Never heard of staking a rubber gasket so I’m confused on that. I understand driving it into place with a socket. Thanks for the help!

I think I understand what you’re saying now. Knock it into place and then on the edges of the runner just put some dimples in it so it will not move freely when the poppet valve opens? So just a couple of good old pointy spots on the rubber to keep her from sliding?

First: WHY are you replacing the carrier? If it's not loose, broken or damaged, just replace the GROMMET (which acts as the seat).

If the CARRIER is replaced, it must be coated (outside) with permanent loctite, driven into place, and then strake the adapter plate in 4 places to prevent it from coming out.

Only ones I've had to replace were due to a new adapter plate, or someone's failed attempt at removing the old one.
