Not 100% sure but I believe they are. I know there’s Florida strains in some of the tidal rivers in VA and I’d imagine it’s the same in NC

Yup...some would say BASS only went after seeing MLF. The 5 fish weights were better overall than they were in BASS but they went much later in year.

Actually it’s the opposite. BASS has been the organization for the past 10 years that’s consistently gone to the exact same places. MLF has been the opposite. Matter of fact, if you look at the “Best 100 Lakes” joke that BASS does every year you’ll see that some of the lakes they didn’t have on the list in years prior magically made the top 15 after MLF went there.

MLF just went to the chowan last year which is the same chain as the pasquotank.

Rumor is Rick Morris brought them back years ago and put them in gaston.. dont know how he kept them alive the entire time but who knows.. Kerr, gaston and roanoke rapids full of them now.. especially gaston

a lot of them did.. i did hear drew benton or either cook talking up his phoenix saying he ran 160 round trip each day and did not have to refuel

total fluke but i ended up down there at the exact same time fishing the chowan. You can see the place's potential, but it by no means is the fishery that the single 100+ lb bag made it out to be. We had three boats running for 3 full days and the biggest fish caught was a 4lber...

Fontana big beautiful with smallmouth and out of the way
James brown fish but tough
Norman BUSY but great spotted bass fishing
Yadkin Chain not going to talk about it
Greensboro City lakes small with big fish
Smith Mountain just been great lately
Philpott caught my first smallie there years ago
Jordan, Falls, Harris monsters live there
Buggs and Gaston legendary
Eastern Rivers just been put on display
James River great
Anna not hearing anything on it now but was good at one time

Plugneck hit the nail. Have fished down east since the 80's. Hurricanes and tropical storms ravage that area, and it takes about five years to come back. Multiple storms in multiple years will push the timeframe out. What will happen is someone thinks they can run from the Tank to the Chowan and get stuck because of a normal breeze on any other lake.

i remember back in or around 2015 or so a bunch of boaters crossed the sound and went into the Chowan River , at the end of the day there was 18 boats that couldnt make it back to the roanoke river for weigh in ,, it took way into the night to get every accounted for and on the trailer , that water shed aint no joke , it can get very ruff fast
