    Minn Kota Steering sticks

    I have a minnkota Edge on my pond hopper that fixing to be the death of me. Once deployed, it will stick turning left and right. One minute it turns 10 & 2 then only turns 12 & 3 so it’s all over the place. I got irritated and manually turned the barrel and it would move fine until it was stowed and re deployed. I noticed that if I worked the foot pedal left and right with hard pressure it pushes beyond the sticking point temporarily. Id love to fix it, any ideas are appreciated.

    You have one of two issues. The outer shaft is bent or you may have a loose pinion gear. If you unsure how to repair bring it to an ASC.

    You hit the nail on the head. A screw stripped out of my pinion gear and wedged in between the shaft and upper shaft tube.
