Please Help!!! Mercury 200 EFI Ignition/Key Switch Replacement

I have a 1996 Mercury 200 EFI (I will supply serial if needed.) on a 1996 Ranger 488Vs. Last weekend fishing in a tourney my ignition switch broke. The switch is podded with 10-wires coming out of it. I called Ranger and they sent me a 6-wire. Can you wire a 10-wire into a 6-wire switch?

The original switch has...

2- Solid Purple wires
1- Solid Red wire
1- Red wire w/ Purple stripe
2- Solid Black wires
1- Black wire w/ two Yellow stripes
1- Black wire w/ one Yellow stripe
1- Yellow wire w/ Red stripe
1- Yellow wire w/ Black Stripe

New ignition switch...

1- Solid Red Wire
1- Solid Black wire
1- Solid Purple wire
1- Yellow wire w/ Red stripe
1- Yellow wire w/ Black stripe
1- Black wire w/ Yellow stripe

Can these 10-wires be combined down to 6-wires?

So red/purple, and both solid reds together
black w/ 2 yellow stripes with both black with single yellow stripes together
all three purple wires together.

I just wanted to make sure that would be ok.

then the yellow/black wires together.
and yellow red wires together.

don't even need yellow/black strp on efi that's for choke
