Minn Kota Ultrex Lower Unit/ Motor Replacement

Has anyone removed just the lower unit/motor from a ultrex with a standard US2 transducer? Just wondering how the motor is attached to the shaft????

You can not remove the motor from the shaft without destroying the shaft and or the receiver that the shaft is glued in. It goes through a special assembly that can not be repeated by a common layman.
You have to replace the complete shaft and motor assembly.

You need a complete assembly, they come pre-assembled, All you do is slide old one out, new one in, and make up the connections. Takes about 10 minutes.

Easy install ,but not cheap. They do it that way at the service centers so you can bet they were getting callbacks and had to redo the job or they would not have changed to that procedure from the shaft replacement.(leaks) Bob
