150 EFI randomly dies
I have a 1996 mec 150 efi , it will run great at wot for a minute or 2 then just die like you cut the key off but will start right back up and do the same thing every time.
Now if I run less than wot it will run longer before it dies , the lower I run it the longer it goes before it dies.
I did replace both voltage regulators because I was getting 17-17.5 volts at wot and now I'm a constant 14 or so. , i have replaced the fuel line but not bulb.
I'm wondering if it's one of my fuel pumps.
Motor is a 1996 EFI serial 0G37493

If you would, please be sure to take a moment to review the Announcements at the top of the Forum, and be sure to provide the Required Info (serial number) when posting. Thanks!
Need to monitor voltage at the Cranking Battery WHEN this is occurring. Make sure you are using a traditional WET cell cranking battery (NO maintenance free, Gel, AGM, Lithium, etc).
Also be sure you used ONLY OEM Mercury/Quicksilver regulators, and that ALL wires for the regulators are free from browning, blackening, burnt or discolored connectors.

Serial added to post.
Voltage when motor dies is 14 range usually 14.4 , before it changed the regulators it was in the 17 range that why I replaced both of them thinking it was my issue.
Running a standard battery with 1000 cca.

Check the ECU connection at the front of the engine to make sure it's fully seated, lock ring locked, and set in it's retainer.
Check the GROUNDS for the ECU (one from ECU to intake, another from intake to bracket at the top of ECU).
If problem persists, install a fuel pressure gauge on the engine and have someone monitor (or video) what happens when the engine stalls.
