    Before the storms

Got out fishing with a friend of mine this morning on one of the many little lakes about 46 minutes from home. Started off kinda slow, got checked by the dnr, and then managed to catch a few. Think we ended up catching about 20 total, most of which were in 3ft of 52 degree water. I really enjoy spring fishing on cloudy, misty days when you have a lake to yourself. Best one a bit over 6lbs.

That’s some awesome Hoosier fishing! I certainly struggled when I lived in Indiana in the early ‘80’s.

    Nice!!
There's lots of decaffeinated brands that are just as tasty as the real thing.

    Hi Mike.

Fishing on the lakes in north central is fairly good as long as you are ok with 2-4lb fish. Of course you also have to be ok with crowds as they are small.

I won my first club tournament on Lake Manitou with two fish that probably totaled 3+ lbs. (combined). So yea, we would have been happy with 2-4 lb. fish back then.

Manitou can be tough at times for sure. Had some really good days on that lake, and a few pretty bad ones. I hated it back in the 80's. Have some cool pictures from 2 years ago during the deer rut, of a buck chasing a doe back in one of the channels. The doe went swimming around the boat with the buck close behind.
