I am having 2 of my hds 9 gen 2's replaced this week and I am wondering if I should keep them or just sell them. I was thinking maybe i can use one of the gen 2's as just a mapping graph by connecting a power cable to it and no transducers? Would this work?

It would work as a stand alone mapping unit but it can’t be connected by Ethernet to any newer units. It can’t share mapping or sonar but if connected by NMEA 2000 it would have limited waypoint sharing with other units.

If you can afford to, I would sell them while you can still get something for them, or trade them in. They are no longer supported.
