Since you say *one* bait, the rod that never gets changed is a Texas-rigged senko or dinger. But in truth, the reason I have as many rod-reel combinations as I have is so that frequently used bait rigs are always at hand. I fish drop baits more than moving baits, so I typically have two rigs for some frequently used baits. Two with jigs, two with tubes, two Texas rigs, two drop shots, two Ned rigs, etc.

C-rig never without one. Crank bait rod gets changed from one type or another. Only thing that changes on my C-rig is from brush hog to maybe a lizard. But always have both ready.

Also keep a 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 green pumpkin with red flake tube tied on. Fish it with a weedless tube hook, 1/16 to 1/8 oz.

I always have a spinnerbait tied on. Usually a half ounce tandem with a small colorado up front and a unnamed blade on the back that hasn't been made in years.
