Gmail is the worst possible email, should be treated as a burner email. Gmail sells you account to everyone on the planet.

I am going to a new computer with windows 11 and i'm considering the new Outlook, would that be a good choice? I use word occasionally but don't want to pay for that, just remember i'm not that savvy on the computer.

Outlook will be pre installed on your new computer. It will work just fine as an email client. You can still use your old email address.

I used Outlook for the last couple of years (work email). I absolutely hated it, along with everyone else in the company. That was one of the things I was looking forward to when I retired! I use an old Yahoo account and Gmail. Both are good, though the Yahoo account produces a lot of spam. I might get a couple of spam emails a week on Gmail.

The free outlook.com email addresses are one of the best. Gmail steals your information and scans all your emails and sells your information. Outlook does not do that.

Don't you know outlook is owned by Microsoft? The same ones that are about to make you have a Microsoft account for your computer? Why do you think that is?

The company I retired from uses Outlook, so I had used it for many, many years. I wanted to continue with it when I retired but it was rather expensive for private use, so I use Gmail....and hate it with a passion. After being able do so much with Outlook, Gmail seems way out of date. One thing I hate is not being able to highlight and delete blocks of emails. It's either, you delete all, or one by one.

That can be done quite easily. Select an email by clicking on the box to the left. Press and hold the 'Shift' key. Click on the box of another email. All emails in between will be selected and can be trashed

I get a ton of spam E mails in my outlook mail. Every time you search for something on MSN, you get a spam E mail in Outlook. I don't use it anymore and go and clean it out every day.

Not 100% true.
Att and xfinity/comcast you can keep your email accounts if you drop their service.
