Looking for a new email provider

I am going to a new computer with windows 11 and i'm considering the new Outlook, would that be a good choice? I use word occasionally but don't want to pay for that, just remember i'm not that savvy on the computer.

I was told my email address is so old and outdated that I shouldn’t use it for any professional correspondence.
    I’m quite proud of that.

I would just create a gmail account.

The Outlook application is not a provider but rather a client that allows you to access your email account. You can use it with a Microsoft-hosted email address (such as one ending with live.com), gmail, or many others.

Word is just for drafting documents. You shouldn't need it to compose emails.

Gmail.. I mean in reality they all do the same thing. Unless you’re using emails everyday, numerous times a day religiously, it’s not like one is so much better than the other.

Gmail. You get google docs, sheets, and such for free which basically do the same as microsoft office.

I use Outlook and don't get any more junk mail. Now my Hotmail account is for when I want to check something out and they want an email address I use that. I go in and check it out once a week clear it out.
Just don't forget to email your friends that you have a new email.
As for Word and Excell I bought Microsoft home Office program as don't like paying a monthly fee for something I can just own.

AOL since 1990 for us, no reason to change for us.

On my W10 desktop I use FREE Thunderbird email client to view both my Gmail and ISP email accounts (auto login). (product of Mozilla Foundation)

I think an online gun shop may have given my email address to > (The National Wild Turkey Federation, Dunham Sports, etc.). I easily created some Thunderbird email filters and now their constant spam go straight to Spam or Trash folder or where ever you want.

The company I retired from uses Outlook, so I had used it for many, many years. I wanted to continue with it when I retired but it was rather expensive for private use, so I use Gmail....and hate it with a passion. After being able do so much with Outlook, Gmail seems way out of date. One thing I hate is not being able to highlight and delete blocks of emails. It's either, you delete all, or one by one.

Why not use the email from your internet provider?
Gmail is the worst possible email, should be treated as a burner email. Gmail sells you account to everyone on the planet.

Gmail has the best filtering of any provider.

That explains why my Gmail has hundreds of spam emails every time I check the account.
Gmail is for those who don't know how to use the email provided by your internet provider.

Proton Mail is pretty simple, free version and paid version and secure I like it a lot. This is my referral link https://pr.tn/ref/JZB7JNWBHY70

As for a Word program try the free https://www.libreoffice.org/download...d-libreoffice/

I'll second Proton Mail. It's lot more secure from what I've read.

Unless you're trolling, using internet provider email is a boomer thing and not advisable

Good luck migrating your email if you get a new ISP
