I've had close calls with turkeys in Indiana & Ohio both. Almost hit a bear one morning on my way from LaBel to Istokpoga. Dad hit a pheasant in Ohio back when Iowan's were coming to Ohio to pheasant hunt & it unlatched the hood of the car & folded the hood up over the windshield.

All (wild) Turkeys can fly well not for Les!

If professionals who's careers depend on catching fish use FFS then that's what I'm using. Might be too simple of a philosophy but makes sense to me.

    Definitely killed. Definitely.

Had one launch out of a ditch on a VERY low flight path right in front of the truck several years ago. It just grazed the edge of the hood and bounced off - kept flying. Bent the hood... but 3" higher and it might have ended up looking like those pics! Scary.

yeah, turkeys fly. I shot one years ago roosting on a tree limb, I was squirrel hunting so I had a 22. It flew probably a quarter mile before landing.

Came close to having the same thing happen on a 4 lane highway at 70 mph. I was right next to a pickup truck so I couldn't move over lanes. I actually ducked in the care as it went right over the hood and right past my face. When I realized I missed it (not sure how) I looked out my door window, and the look on the passenger's face in the other vehicle next to me pretty much said it all. Not sure how they missed it either, but we were both extremely lucky!!!

In Kentucky? Illegal if so. Friend had a co worker leave work a little early we’ll say. Pulled out on the highway in his company truck less than a mile from the office and a turkey flys into his windshield. Truck registers the impact and reports an accident. Guy lost his job over that.

Had one hit my mirror on my 2500. It folded it in and gave the hen a Coca Cola headache.
