I had to stop/play/stop to see what happened and then realize it was another boat that T-Boned him.....hope all made it out ok....

Looks like he went out of the boat as well. Hard to tell. Happened so fast.

Watch out for the other guy. Doesn't matter who had the right of way if you're killed or badly injured. When booze or stupidity are factored into the equation, nothing is certain.

I say that a lot, having the right of way is great but it's kinda useless if your dead or paralyzed. Trust no one. I had a what would have been close call the other day, tractor trailer trying to stop for a light that changed red for him in the rain (on a 50 mph road), mine went green but I always check to make sure the first vehicle stops or I have room beat them through the intersection if they don't. Tractor trailer did manage to stop about 20 feet past his stop line but It was not close as I only moved out about 10 feet past my stop line as I saw him coming and could tell he was going a little fast and it's wet and downhill so I thought he may not be able to stop.

I wear goggles when I drive the boat over 35 mph, keeps my eyes from watering and allows me to easily look back and over each shoulder every minute or so to track where boats are around me. Also I never change the direction I am heading in or stop without looking back first to make sure I am not being overtaken or that I will be putting myself in someone else's path.

Also when guys want to drive a high speed boat on the razor's edge of its performance capabilities it takes up almost all of your attention. Makes it hard to pay attention to what's going on anywhere but right in front of you.

The driver in the video ignored the red light. And at the end, what is that under the console? A fuel cell?

Yeah the driver disappeared from the cockpit and it looks like the kill switch did it's job.

Also looks like the first 4-5 seconds of the video he's looking to his left then back straight ahead right at point of impact.

If two powerboats are crossing in such a way that they might collide, the vessel that has the other on its starboard side is the give-way vessel.

Take a closer look and stop the video at the 0.15 mark. The boat on his starboard side appears to be crossing him at an angle as if the other guy was overtaking the boat in the video. It's hard to see but the boat to the right is definitely not coming across any where near a 90 degree angle.

Was kinda thinking the same thing, like maybe they were blasting off running side by side when the boat on the right caught a wave wrong or hooked left somehow.

On the water, no matter what kind of boat/motor combo you're in, you should be swivel-headed. Go-Pro guy was looking left and had just turned to straight ahead when the collision happened. It's like neither driver knew they were in the same universe together, much less on an impact course with each other.

Even if you don't know the rules, what happened to "Where is the dude going? Does he see me?. I don't trust that dude. I'm slowing down and watching closely so I can avoid his stupidity."
