Ultrex intermittent beeps and lights blink

This happened all of a sudden. It beeps and the lights on the foot pedal blink and the trolling motor does not work. It does this when the on/off button on the foot pedal is in either the on or off position. The blue light stays on in both the on and off position. So it seems the on/off switch on the foot pedal is bad.

All connections are clean and tight but this is intermittent.

could just the on off cause this issue.

Is there a way to test the main breaker, on off switch and main board?

    Any ideas

OKI just ordered the new switch from TMparts. I’ll replace it and hopefully that does the trick

Just replaced mine today for similar problem. We'll see how the new sealed switch lasts...

Do you guys that have had problems with the switch use it? I have always just used the breaker at the back of the boat when I got home to shut mine off before plugging in my charger. I have had several Ultrex and never had an issue with the switch that is why I was wondering.

It is a known issue with the regular Ultrex. They make an upgraded waterproof switch to help with the problem going forward.

Mine is a 21, I use the breaker not the TM pedal switch. This is the first time I had a problem

Could be as easy as a loose wire on the switch as well

I don't think I've ever used the switch on my old Ultrex or my Quest. I just use the breaker.

I replaced the old switc with the new sealed switched and it worked like new, UNTIL IT DIDNT!

I was fishing and heard the same beeping noise and the lights on the pedal were blinkin. Then it went dead AGAIN!

Any other ideas to try, I called a shop but have not heard back yet?

Make sure the two wires connected to the switch are tight. Those connectors need to be snug.

Sounds like you have a board fixing to fail.

I suggest that you start checking your trolling motor batteries. Could be a loose connection, could be a corroded connection, or I could even be a bad battery. If all of the above check out then I would move to the control board in the foot pedal. It's possible that there is something internally wrong with the control board causing the lights to flash and beeping and etc etc.

My new Ultrex Quest is doing the same thing. I get a beep, lots of lights and nothing works until I turn the switch off and back on. I’ve had the motor for two months.

Strange, but I bypassed the switch and was able to fish all day with no issues. Something caused the problem with the switch. I could still possibly have an issue with the main board, so if it happens again???

Just remember that the switch works the opposite of a normal switch. When you turn on you open switch and breaks the circuit. When you turn off the switch you are making the circuit which turns the board off. This does not kill complete power to the board. You have to turn off your power source at the batteries to completely remove power.
