Garmin ease of use

So I’m thinking about FFS. Never used it and still trying to decide what to use. I read where Garmin Livescope seems to have the edge on clarity but active target 2 seems to have the edge on ease-of-use, looking for some honest advice/ feedback People that may have tried both. I am not an expert on this- Thx all

I turn my Livescope on and never have a need to adjust anything throughout the day.

Garmin is the easiest to use and if something were to occur, their tech support is elite!

I did the Garmin vs at2 juggle for a while. I'd had lowrance in the past, and now have a boat full of humminbird so Garmin was entirely new.
End of the day, I went Garmin because at2 while good, it's got it's short comings compared to Garmin.
What I did, was watch a couple of Garmin guru videos about settings to learn what each adjustment did and got his basic settings.
Got on the water, set the basic settings, player with it for a bit, and went fishing. For the most part it's been set it and forget it aside from having to tweak for water clarity.
I would rather have the ability to fine tune vs limited settings in case I need it.

Thank you for the responses. If you were starting from nothing, what would be the live scope version and also recommended graphs for console and bow? I know it has to do with budget, I’m thinking something like a 9 inch at the console and 10 inch at the bow. Obviously, I want something that works with LiveScope but also would have good sonar if that make sense. I was very close to getting active target 2, but the more I read tomorrow second-guess myself

Livescope LVS34, and either 2 echomap ultra 2 106sv units, or 1 of those and an echomap uhd2 93sv. If you’re going echomap make sure to get the ultra 2 or UHD2 versions, that software is much more similar to the GPSMAP series now and I really like it

As a Humminbird person, I find that my Garmin Echomap UHD 93sv for Livescoope seems to be easy to use--I pretty set and forget, or if I do adjust depth and distance, it is easy to change quickly. I still have Humminbirds connected to my Ultrex, although I wouldn't mind using a Garmin Force and just keeping a Humminbird for a 360.

They’re all very intuitive and easy to use…just takes a bit of time to get used to the menus.

You turn garmin on, set the depth manually vs auto and adjust the range to 60-75 and your good to go.

There are other adjustments but not much needed and default will work great.

Thanks, I was pretty set on the active target 2, but leaning pretty hard toward the Garmin now. I just want to make sure whatever electronics I put on I can add FFS. I will be fishing walleye in local lakes, so I’m not sure how much life scope will help, but I want to make sure whatever I buy is compatible if I decide to go that route. I’m guessing it’ll make me start targeting Crappi which I’m looking forward to as well - I really appreciate the feedback.

The best electronics to use for walleye fishing is LiveScope 34 at least to 90 ft. In the spring I switch to crappie fishing but other than that I target walleye.
