if you have that luxury then sure, but majority do not. The incentive is a want. But from a practical standpoint of new vs used there really isn’t a big difference.

I bought my boat from the original owner in 2019. He bought a new ranger with a custom color scheme to match my boat as close as possible. While he likes it, he even said the difference between the two is mainly the 4 stroke motor and the dash. The advancement in boats besides dash tech is fairly stagnant. I’ve fished out of newer (and new) boats, and after fishing out of them I was left fairly uninspired to look for new.

but again, I’m talking from a perspective that I can’t afford a new boat without any substantial loan.

I went to the expo this weekend and there were zero Tritons there so I'm assuming they're about gone... Shame really...

So if they do go out of business what’s the danger of owning one? It’s not like the hull requires a lot of maintenance from the manufacturer and small components should still be available for some time I would think.

Maybe a hit on resale value depending on the model and factory support if needed.

This was my thoughts also. I was rather disappointed Triton was not there. If they had plans to keep them going one would think they would still be pushing the XP series.

Parts will be available for a while, but those will slowly fade away into the sunset. Stratos owners have been feeling this for many years now.

You pose a great Point, however Like previously said WRMG doesn't own those brands. Ranger and Nitro were next to each other. One would think, Triton would have been there too.

Don't think Ballistic is still in operation? Allison and Bullet sometimes have 1 or 2 models there depending on the location and how far it is needed to travel. Can't comment on this Classic as I wasn't there.

Isn’t that the case even with older models still in business?

Thats right. If they were keeping triton they would have had a boat or 2 at the classic. They pulled Connells sponsorship and put him in a ranger. That dude is the most popular guy in a triton. It really stinks but i bet they fade out this year

All this BS talk, that nobody can confirm, (and this basically goes for all non-essential things) is what will kill a product. Triton doesn’t stand a chance with all this kinda chatter jumping all over fishing platforms. An not one person saying it can be considered a source that I’ve seen. Just because they weren’t at the classic doesn’t mean they’re closing the doors. Maybe they are, maybe they ain’t. But when folks hear it enough that something is done, they’ll steer clear of buying it. All this hub-hub may have already built a fire too big to put out whether JM was planning on phasing them out or not. It would suck if a bunch of folks lost their jobs because of the rumor mill. Ok, carry on.

triton built in the ranger plant so likely a lot of the same people do both builds--likely lost some jobs when they moved it from the legend plant. but lots of boat factories in that area also
