It’s not that deep. I’ve been called worse. It wasn’t the best take ever tbh it was probably a fair response… Although I have a hard time believing a Gill, Wheeler, Birge, Alton Jr, Becker and maybe a few other wouldn’t have really thrived in this tournament. Of course I’m an idiot because you can say that about any tournament but we’re just having a conversation here - I’m not asking anyone to agree with me. No reason to get hostile toward me - that’s a you problem at that point.

This was the weakest classic field in recent memory… I don’t see a world in which any one of 10 MLF anglers wouldn’t have run away with this tournament. It woulda been hard to run away with Easton had 3 really good days - but everyone else struggled to fish clean and put 3 good days together.

They were signing off from the coverage so I turned off my phone that I was watching the coverage on. I just watched the video and now see that they hung on just long enough to get Easton’s big catch. I’m glad they got it, my loss as I had gone back to focusing on catching some crappie for dinner. That fish bit close to the boat!!

Him or anyone breaking any record is very lake dependent… To be clear. Just because he broke a record doesn’t just disqualify any other conversation - to be clear. They coulda probably gone to a handful of others lakes this time of year and blown the record away as well. So you flexing on me with that isn’t the flex you think it is.

I agree it is very lake dependent, but the Classic has been held at some awesome fisheries over the years, even this exact same pond the exact same time of year! This record is absolutely the flex I think it is. I think a massive kudos go out to him and to insinuate someone in MLF would have done better is a low blow founded in disdain

I don’t know if it’s founded in “disdain” I mean I watched every second of coverage all 3 days for a reason, no? Not to try and discredit the winner. But to your point - I did do that, so it’s worth answering to.

Look, I really don’t think much of Hank Cherry as an angler but he’s a two time Classic Champion and he’s won on this fishery and he wasn’t in the field. Swindell wasn’t in the field. BP wasn’t in the field. Like it’s not that good a field - most of the guys in the top 10/15 are hammers I get it not doubting that.

I enjoyed watching Easton and was definitely not cheering against him - he was very poised and did a fantastic job. He would have been hard to beat no matter who was fishing against him.
