Im heading to the Classic Expo this weekend. If Triton does not have boats there, then To me thats definitely a sign

Triton 19 XS Elite, 225 Mercury Pro XS, Minn Kota Ultrex 112, Hydrowave H2,10' Power Pole ONE PUMP Blades, Power Pole CHARGE, Lowrance HDS 12 and 16 at console, Lowrance HDS 9, Garmin LiveScope at bow, Mercmonitor, Rigid Industries Deck lights and other stuff to come that will make me go more broke

What did you see at the expo? Any Tritons on display or only Ranger & Nitro?

I hope I’m 100% wrong as I like Triton but I would be surprised if they’re still around in a couple of years.

Seems like the bass boat market for new buyers is shrinking and how much of a difference in a boats layout can you make from Ranger, Triton and Nitro in a 18, 19, 20 and 21’ boat? Something has got to give…………

I have no idea what’s going on at Triton, but Randy Howell and Connell in a Ranger has to say something.

So were any displayed at the Classic? If none there that pretty much says they are done 100%.

When was the last classic without at least one pro running a triton in it before last year?

Pretty sure it was 1996/97 with the TR-21. I was selling boats part time at one of the first Triton dealers in the country.

What’s the incentive of buying a new boat? Only three things come to mind: warranty, Contingency (if that even is a factor to most), and to be able to say you can afford one.

a 10yo boat fishes just as well as one straight off the line. Even my boat that’s 30 years old and is in fantastic condition fishes just as well as new. With less technology/electronics to go wrong. Sure older boats might need more maintenance but it’s usually very minor. I know for me the price tag outweighs the want/incentive. Then again I can’t even afford a new 17ft tracker

Bass fishing, and particularly tournament fishing down here and many other parts of the country, is a culture and a lifestyle. Buying new boats is just part of it. As an example, in Texas on any given weekend from January to May there is a bass tournament on every decent sized bass
lake in the state. There will be 20 to 200 plus boats in them. Then there will also be hundreds if not thousands of recreational fisherman around the state as well. This kind of participation will sell a lot of boats. We also have a good economy and plenty of guys willing to spend some money on their passion. You don’t necessarily need a reason to buy a boat beyond you just want one.

Incentive is I can put motor on it I want and pick the color scheme exactly like I want without compromise and I know the history of how it has been taken care of instead of inheriting someone else problems. I don't buy a new car I want in the wrong color because the price it right either so I wait until I can get the color options I want or I don't get one.

Ky and Barkley has anywhere from a hundred to 400 boats every week for tournaments. It’s crazy. Every spot is beat to death. I know most love tournaments but I think it ruins the pleasure of just getting out and having fun. It’s out of hand.

    Total agreement!

I started fishing KY and Barkley in roughly 2000. by the time 2015 hit, my energy was dying for the area related to too many tournaments. In principle, I have no issue with other people liking tournaments but I seek peace and quiet when I fish so I no longer visit those lakes.
