She’s been asking me for the last month or so when can we go fishing so yesterday was pretty nice day, picked her up from school and told her we are going fishing. Just from shore at a little beach area on one of the local ponds. She is only 7 so I told her we might not catch anything because the water is still cold and so on , 5 minutes into the trip I feel something smack me on the face and sure enough I get a hook right between the eyes lol I pull on it a little and it’s not coming out it’s past the barb, she’s upset and getting nervous but I tell her calm down there is a guy sitting in his car go ask him to come help us. He comes down I tell him to cut the line so no weight on it and give a little pull with the pliers not working I said ok I cut a piece of braid off my rod and make a loop push down on the eye and tell him to give it a quick pull it came right out with little blood lol but she did catch her 1st sunfish of the season after 2 hours of trying lol her casting has really improved from last season outside of the little mishap lmao
