How many of you guys have a 6.7 Cummins specifically a 22 or newer and have experienced lifter issues?

I think it is a pretty common issue at this point. The biggest thing I have seen is that the lifter tick is being caused by using the wrong weight oil, and not changing the oil often enough. I had a 22 but sold it because of not using enough. All diesels have issues. If I was to get another one today, it would be a Ram/Cummins.
It’s so common they make a retrofit kit back to the solid lifters

I had a 22. Only ticking issues I had was when the dealership would change the oil. When I changed it myself I never saw an issue. That being said I don't have it anymore because I was on my 3rd transmission in 50K miles. I have a duramax now and it ticks like crazy. They say it's "normal" though

The Hamilton kit costs $3k, plus labor, you are easily looking at $5-6k to convert. I'd make sure it was ticking good before I made the choice to do the conversion.
I have a 22 and have not noticed any issues. I do change oil every 5K and use 5w40 Rotella Synthetic. I change that often because I never drive it very much.
22 using valvoline prem blue 5/40. No issues at all.. change mine once a year at approx 10k miles
Have you’all seen where Cummins is coming out
with their first gas engine. It will have 300hp and
over 600ft lbs torque.

Not crazy about the glow plugs...something else to break with age and destroy a piston
Have a 19', a 22' a 23' and a 24' no issues on any of them.
I have a 22 Cummings with 40k miles all towing and no tick. Truck has been flawless.

Thanks for the feedback guys. There's some pretty good deals on left over '24s out there, I got a 14 6.7 HO which has been a great engine not super fond of the Aisin trans and the truck has typical 10 year old truck stuff starting to annoy me.

I guess that depends on what you consider a "lot". I read yesterday the grid bolt heater has been an issue in .03 percent of Cummins motors. And I read 2 popular Ram forums every day. Been a LONG time since I've seen a new report of that issue. Pretty sure Ram/Cummins has that under control.
I have a 22 Ram with the Cummins. I do all my own oil changes and use the suggested oil type/viscosity. No ticking, no issues. I pretty much only use it for towing. Been a great truck. I think folks that use them for every day commuting type activity are at far more risk of having issues (thanks to the EPA) than the Cummins tick. That's true of all the HD diesels though.

I have seen quite a few lifter failures on those. The main thing is to use 5w40 synthetic oil instead of the standard 15w40, I wouldn't recommend using 10w30 either.
