    What to Expect!

I made a move to an 8610XSV Garmin. I had been using a 106SV EchoMap. I do hope the higher pixel count will help an old guy see fish somewhat better. Has anyone else made a similar move and are you satisfied with the result. Thanks guys.

You will not see a difference. 12" unit would be a better choice.

I see a big difference, the screen is much brighter and more crisp. The faster processor makes a big difference when going through the menus, going from one screen to another or searching through your map. The built quality of a Gpsmap is not comparable to an Echomap, the Echomap feels lighter and less robust.
I have owned 3 Echomaps and now that I'm using the Gpsmaps, I am very happy with the upgrade.
    my two cents..

I don't see much of a difference other than the GPS Maps turn on a hell of a lot faster. I have an 8610 , 8616, 126, and 93 on my boat. The size makes a bigger difference to me.
