    Bobcats

This past fall I had a photo on one of my game cameras that wasn’t very clear but my first impression was bobcat. Tonight I’m pretty certain I was correct because there was a bobcat screaming not too far away on my neighbor ‘s property. What a spooky sound. We are dog sitting a beagle and some kind of larger hound that my daughter owns and they want to go investigate. I think not!! I’m not going out there, I’m locking the doors!

I once spent an entire afternoon sitting in a treestand watching a young bobcat kit stalk a squirrel on the ground, the squirrel runs up a tree, the squirrel screams out warnings, then forgets and climbs down the tree, then the young bobcat tries to stalk him again, up the tree goes the squirrel and the cycle repeated itself for well over an hour.

I got lucky at Tenoroc in Lakeland different times and seen 1 cross the road on their property, and once 2 did.
This link talks of one elsewhere in Florida.

I wouldn't want to mess with one that's for sure.

We see them often from deer blinds. Amazing creatures!

All the time I spend out doors, I've never seen a bobcat in real life...

I see two or three each deer season. One patrols a food plot I hunt quite often. Never saw him go after any deer. The others I see are down near my river stand. I have watched them stalk rabbits and squirrels. Quite frankly, I am more wary of the hogs than the bobcats.

I’ve seen 2 in person while fishing. I have one around house now cuz his/her tracks are all over behind fence. Seen 2 foxes crossing my street one evening too.

We had a male bobcat make the rounds here years ago, her is one of his offspring. She w20211204_163814.jpgas a sweet cat and stayed around the house, was definetly the boss. Sadly had to put her down a few years ago.

This video from one of our home cameras next to our deck a couple years ago.

If professionals who's careers depend on catching fish use FFS then that's what I'm using. Might be too simple of a philosophy but makes sense to me.

We had one run across the road in front of us this past fall about 10min from our house. It was the only time I’ve ever seen one in the wild in person

I see them every year around Dale Hollow. Really cool creatures. Never seen one while hunting surprisingly.

We had one chasing a squirrel on the screens of our back room last year. He finally caught the squirrel and left. This squirrel also seemed to forget what was going on.

There was a tree about to come down on a lake bank I was fishing one night. I went under it and a blood curdling scream came out of it. I turned my headlamp on and sure enough there was a bobcat in the tree about 10 yards or less away from me. Nothing will wake you up faster than that scream in the middle of the night.
