    Correct, I recommend the 303 for rubber or the spray cans used for gaskets on camper slides, either can be purchased at a camping supply store.

    Checked a 250 ProXS 4-Stroke Top-Cowling weight, just for giggles: 46.5#

    Mercury designed the cowling/handle to be removed from the back deck (with engine tilted up).

    I concur that it is much easier to remove it standing on the back deck, I usually trim the motor up. And 46 pounds seems about right that sucker is pretty heavy.

    Its definitely a "Put down your purse" type of cowling.
