    Prop Nut?

I have a 2015 150 four stroke s/n 2B135380 that has a McGard prop lock that I want to get rid of.

What prop nut do I need to go back to original? I tried Mercury site for my serial number and that part is not listed or I can not find it.

Several options: If your castle nut uses a TWO TAB washer, you can use 8M0056234 or 8M0056235.

If yours uses the 6-tab washer, Part# 52707T1.

Problem is I don't know what it had on it before the McGard was put on.

What parts do I need to go back to factory spec?

    It could be either.

Snap a picture of what you have, that makes it really easy for us to tell you.

Hub kits changed as a "running change" without any change to part number, so you could have either type.

    Lets try this:

Look at the castle nut that your prop nut (formerly your McGuard nut) holds in place.

Is it STAINLESS with two pins... or BRASS with six (6) recessed areas around the outside?

There isn't a castle nut of either type. The McGard has no nut retention at all other then the nylon in the nut.

I included a picture of the shaft and what is there after the McGard nut and nut protector are removed.

It appears to be part 8M0056235.

You have two pins on a stainless castle.

    Use Part# 8M0056234 or 8M0056235
