2006 Champ 187-WHAT PROP TO RUN

2006 Champion DC, 187, 2023 Merc 175 4 stroke,. Current prop 20 pitch Merc tempest plus, moved jackplate up/down, 5600 max rpm, water pressure 15+

Is there a better prop?

Ideas?

There is defiantly a problem somewhere, that motor should be hitting the rev limiter easily with a 20" pitch Tempest. What is your speed?

Agree with above - I can turn a 24p trophy to 5600 and a 23p Tempest to 5700 with a 150EFI on my 181. I realize you have a 4 stroke, but HP is HP.

I also am interested what speed you are getting.

My 187 with a 175 EFI runs good with a 23 Temp worked by Mark Croxton.

Me too but mine's a stock 23 Tempest. Often think about sending it to Mark.
