Anyone know the grease nipple size for the newer BOBS Hydraulic Plate?

Any takers? Wanting to grease my BOBS hydraulic plate using the side insert but not finding a fitting connector to do so. Thanks.

Not sure what new is to you, but my Bob's is 2 yrs old and a standard grease gun works. Cant imagine that is something they would change.
Maybe the outer dia of the fitting on your grease gun is too large.

Mine works with the standard fitting that came with my grease gun, at times it can be a little difficult to remove but it works fine for me

I purchased this gun. Seems like the outer dimension of the fitting is too big... OR maybe it isnt supposed to fit snug on there I just need to hold it?

I use one of the mini grease guns for my boat stuff as Not only can I keep it in a bag, but also I use a different grease on my tractor than for my boat so I can keep them separate. I use the Mercury marine grease for the boat.
I got a mini pistol grip from Fleet Farm for about $18 and Mercury marine grease tubes for it. Your problem is your the fitting on your grease gun, not the jackplate. Just get a different fitting, about $3.

I don't understand what you mean by size unless you are talking about the thread size for the Zerk fitting. There are only 3 different sizes of common grease fittings that I know of. The Zerk fitting [that you have] and the Button head fittings, There is a 5/8" and a Giant button head that is 7/8" I believe, we see these in the oilfields and pipeline industries. Then there is the flush type that takes a needle to fill. And a few addballs like the ball style and the small Alemite that I personally have never seen. Buy a grease needle [not the super sharp injector style that you use on driveshaft boots] but a coned 3" long or so pin style with a Zerk on one end. that will do just about anything. CJ

Next time when you go to remove it tilt the tip to the side and give it a twist while you pull.

The tip on your grease gun has a loosen/tighten fitting. I have a similar one. Loosen the fitting on the tip of the grease gun and it will fit on. Terrible design but I guess it works.

I just rubbed grease manually myself on the plate.... Seems to work if you get it a good coating.

Still did not fit when I loosened it. I think I have the wrong size....

You don't have the wrong size, you just have a cheap harbor freight fitting. Go somewhere else besides Harbor Freight and get a real fitting. They are about $3 and just screw on in place of the one you have.
