    Adding a battery.

Our camper only has 1 battery on it. I put a larger capacity battery in it this past year but would like to add another to just get some more capacity.
The only issue is at the toungue area where the battery is at there is only room to have 1.
Thought about putting in another in the front compartment area.
Have any of you all done this and like how it works?

I use wheelchair batteries connected in parallel. My BIL worked at his parents' wheelchair shop and supplied me with still in good shape batteries because most wheelchair bound people replace them yearly. Takes a long time to draw them down. They closed shop and he now works at another Wheelchair place and supplies me with more if I need them. Not cheap by any means. Use 2 HF 25-watt panels which seem to do the job for us, to charge batteries during the day. I usually get 3 - 5 days from them before changing/switching them out. Get 12-amp wire and connect to 1 battery then another about 2 - 3 foot away. Start with 8'. Connect free end to trailer battery in place as needed and you now have a deeper draw down battery set up.

I am looking at adding a second battery over the spring. I will have to reconfigure the layout inside the V of the trailer tongue with welding some additional support as well as a lockable box. I am planning on using two 125 lithium . Fridge runs on electric (ammonia based screw compressor design). I used one of my ionic 125ah last season and when boondocking between our destination it did well with lots of reserve capacity. Camper was built with lithium ion solar system.

Started to prep for this myself but haven't done the install yet. I have three 12volt 280aH Dakota Lithium batteries and the solar controller for them. Just need to find panels and a way to mount them to the roof of my 37ft Palamino fifth wheel. The fridge is a propane/electric so the batteries could be used to run everything else for a very extended amount of time if need be.
