Anybody been on the Ville lately?
I'll be there Wed and Thurs this week. I haven't been there in over a month.
I imagine they are just jumping in the boat!!![]()
I may go down there tomorrow sometime, but not quite certain if the morning or the afternoon. Just look for a white Tr20 with red and black ice Triton swoop on it! Or you can look for the guy who is ticked because he isn't catching anything. Either way it will be me!

Well Bill,
I went last night and it was pretty slow, actual it was dead. Spent most the night fishing off shore breaks, ledges and rock piles. Not much success. Me and my pops tried Carolina rig, tube, crankbait, topwater, jerk bait and a little spinnerbait.
Hopefully I was just fishing dead water spots. I was doing some searching on new spots. I got the tourney tonight and I will keep my eye out for that TOON. I was really shocked usually we get smothered with dinks this time of year.
I did go to Brookville, but didn't get on the water until around 8:30am. I didn't catch a fish. I was there about 3 hours then headed back home. I knew the day wasn't going to go well when the first three spots I had thought out, as I drove to the lake, were all occupied when I started to pull up to them. Gee, do you think someone else knows about my "super secret" honey holes?
Water temp was 75 degrees. Water was somewhat cloudy in the north end and more clear as you headed toward the dam on the south end. (that's pretty much the way it always is there) I fished points and drop offs with soft plastics and deep crank baits. As is the norm at Brookville this time of year, the schools of shad were everywhere!

Had a club tourney out of Bonwell ramp last night 5:30-9:30.
Was super shockedon the amount of fish brought in after my pre fishing results.
Winning weight was just over 5lbs, then 3-4 guys had 2 fish around 3-4lbs. A couple single fish turned in also.
95% smallies turned in. We fished the deep end near the causeway. Water had normal clarity. Hardly any pleasure boats out. Everyone I talked to caught their fish on soft plastic with multiple colors reported(blue/black, chart and greens) We had a storm blowing in
with lightning most the nite off in the distance.
Me and my dad had two smallies a piece. It turned out to be a good evening. Caught my first one off main lake big chunk rock bank rite off the bat on a jig. Our remaining three keepers came in the last hour Carolina rigging main lake structure.![]()
Hit Brookville last night for about 2hrs.
Caught a couple dink smallies and one 16". Had two largemouth on spinnerbait and one on worm all were short. All main lake rock
Nearly had lake to myself. Read high 70's for temps and level was right at summer pool.
Struggling to find any keeper largemouth. I will be there this Sunday for a tourney.
Keeper largemouth or not....I would be very happy to land a 16 inch Smallie!!![]()

Cincy bass, I may well be down at the ville tomorrow also. Maybe we will meet up. I'll be toolin' around in a white Triton, red and black trim on the Triton swoosh.

Hey Bill did you get out Sunday?
Lake was about a foot below summer pool. Water clarity tea color in shallow end, 2-3ft mid lake, 10ft near dam almost turquoise. Lake had white caps most of the day.
The bite was so so for me. One of those "Bad Fisherman" days. I started with topwater till the wind hit. Got a few short smallies missed 4 on it.
Then switched to main lake rock structure and points directly in the wind with jigs and carolina rig. Got the bites but missed the fish really struggled with detecting bites in that wind. Finally did get a good fish on broke my line.
Most guys had one fish even mix between smallies and large mouths. No one was using the same thing. Fast and slow patterns deep and shallow. I got mine about 10-15 ft down. One guy caught his in a foot of water on a flat. Really mixed up.
Had 1 keeper smallie. Good enough for a small check.
I did get on the lake Jamie. I was there from about 6am to 10:30. I usually put in at Quakertown. I fished mostly main lake points. I had two hits and nothing in the boat. I left just a short while after the wind picked up. I didn't go much farther south then the first cove south of the Fairfield causeway. Sounds like you had a bit more action than I did.

Bill if thats the case you had to pass me multiple times. I have a dual console white 21' Skeeter and ended up fishing alone. I was right by Kents Harbor directly in the wind.
A good buddy and I went to Brookville this afternoon. We got on the water around 1:45pm. The lake was dead calm, water somewhat cloudy, around 64 degrees. We fished a drop off at the edge of a flat for the whole time there. We caught quite a mix of fish. A small smallmouth, ringed perch, white bass and my buddy caught a carp about 6 lbs on a chrome jigging spoon! Hooked it in the mouth, the sucker ate that bait! We caught the fish when a slight breeze from the SW started up, the wind then changed around coming from the North. The fish stopped hitting. Had a good time, better than being at work!

Hey Bill that's one thing I learned this year at the Ville' is wind direction really has an affect on the bite.
I went to Brookville this morning. I was Walleye fishing. It was miserable. Didn't rain on me at all until I untied the boat from the dock to head out on the lake. Air temp was probably 48, water temp 57-59. I was only there about two hours, the rain picked up and so did a bit of breeze. I think the lake is down some, maybe 1.5 feet. I haven't checked the Corps of Engineers site to find out for certain. Water is somewhat cloudy. I caught 2 walleyes on jigs in about 10 feet near a ledge which goes to about 19 feet. No size to the fish.

Went to the "dead sea" today with my fishin' buddy. We fished from 10:30am to about 3:30, I had one fish "on" on a dark colored robo worm. I set the hook had him for a few seconds then...he was gone. When I retreived the worm I had one huge scale on my hook. I must have hooked a carp or maybe a striper. The lake is down about 4-5', water is very clear, water temp was 53 degrees. Air temp was about 55. As I said we didn't catch anything but it was better than being at work!!![]()

Fished this past Monday. 1-2-06
Water temp 39 degrees and fairly clear still. We could see a lot of shad swimmimng around and marked quite a few schools but not real tight balls.
We were targetting Stripers near creek channels. Had one on but lost it. We snagged over 30 10inch shad. Most were near the mouth. Used multiple jigging spoons.
We spotted a real nice buck on the causeway unfortunitely it was dead.
