Fished Clinton lake Friday - Sunday this past weekend. Fishing was tough due to the wind and fronts moving through. Bass were caught Sunday morning. Mainly fished coves with lots of laydowns and cover. Most fish were taken with soft plastics very shallow. This was my first time fishing there. Its really a great lake with lots of potential with good weather.
My son an i fished Clinton sat. We had caught 10 fish in about 45 min. We fished the points most of the morning then we tried the skinny water. Picked up some short fish. Wind was bad and we pulled out early Caught our fish on crank baits and plastic
Fished our club tournament on Clinton 5-18-08. The front that came thru Sat night really screwed up the fishing Sunday.Weather was: Blue bird skys, Wind was 15-25mph, high around 60 degs. We only had 3 keeper fish weighed in. Everybody caught fish, but not alot of them. The keeper fish came off jigs and spinnerbaits. Jigs fish were in the shallows and spinnerbaits fish were on the inside edge of coves. We caught are fish off crankbaits on the inner edge of coves also. Had a couple of guys say they caught fish off worms and brush hogs also. Water temps were from 63 degs over by I.P. point to 67 degs in Jungle cove. Water is stained, but not muddy.
