basscub1 you better stick to that "JV" league you're fishing. You might hurt your pride stepping back up!

Nullster I wish I knew you had TM problems at Rend. You could of borrowed my spare and been back in business.

That was hilarious. I picked your brain to know what to avoid, not what to fish. That's why I haven't asked about Shelbyville.

I got a room up there on Friday. Are you all set?

    Re: Shelbyville Lake (nullster)

The fishing is slow. Saturday the 3rd was about the worst conditions I have ever fished in. The wind was gusting 35mph plus...One wind gust actually blew a Plano box filled with crankbaits from the deck onto the floor.
Sunday was a much better day, sunny and warmer withlight winds.

The water temp (south end) averaged around 57 degrees. The lake was at 597.5 just about 2' below summer pool (which started on May 1st).

There's not much water coming in and the outflow is minimal. Hopefully with warmer nights and sunny days the water should heat up soon.

We caught one 15" bass in Country Club cove on Saturday that was filled with eggs.

The spawn should start once the temps reach the 60's.

    Good Luck, jdug

Anytime Rob. Good Luck in the BFL. I'll be fishing the ITT on the 18th...We launch at Eagle Creek. We had 76 boats at the first tournament on April 20th.
Very tough fishing that first week. I believe that two fish weighing 6.5 lbs won it.

    Re: Shelbyville Lake (Jon G)

Well guys, Here goes my report from 6-6-08, 6-7-08, and 6-8-08. Water was about 4'-5' above normal summer pool and then all hell broke loose Friday afternoon / night / Sat morning. Fishing was ok Sat with only 4 total fish weighed in .Then Sun. came around and the lake was up another 5'-6' above what it was on Sat. We used the regular ramps on Sat. and had to use the high water ramps on Sun. Only one keeper was brought in on Sunday and it was by me (one that just crossed the 14" line). The winners caught there 2 on Lizards pumkinseed w/charteuse tail on Sat. ( 5lbs / 9ozs total), 2nd place brought one nice fish in on sat. and caught it on a spinner-bait Chartreuse (4lbs), 3rd place had one fish on Sat. and caught it on a 4" worm (2lbs / 9ozs), and 4th place had one fish on Sun. and caught it on a 7" berkly powerbait worm green pumkinseed w/ chartuese tail ( 1lbs / 10ozs. Sorry for such a long report, but it was a long weekend. I still can't believe the lake came up that much that quick.

I remember fishing a couple tourneys there in 02. We caught the heck out of some biggins! We never fished the lake, we fished the flooded areas with actual mowed grass....lol

    Re: Shelbyville Lake (Dustmaker)

It would have been better if the lake wouldn't have rose 6' from 1:00 pm Sat. to 4:45 am Sun. Plus the cold front that came thru Friday night didn't help either.
