Good morning Gents, I just wanted to throw this out there since everyone is so helpful on these boards. I just recently received my Explore units. This is a warning to check with the mount company you do business with before you buy any mounting accessories or parts to mount your new Explore units. The discs that hold your unit to the bracket mount that comes with the explore units are larger than the ones for the Helix and Solix G3. The Helix units I knew about, but the discs seemed to be the same as the Solix G3 units. In addition, the discs are not removable from the bracket that comes with the Explore units. Some bracket companies have moveable brackets, and offer replaceable discs to accommodate different size units. I was forced to use smaller bolts to hold my explore units on the over and under bracket I use, because the larger Boldt holes did not match up. I specifically use Precision Sonar mounts, and they are awesome. I ordered the larger discs because I changed out my Helix discs for larger Solix discs and they worked great. It appeared the Solix discs would work with the explore units but they do not. The discs on the Explore units are deeper seated than the Solix G3 discs. Regardless of what mounts you use, my message is to call your mount company and ask specifically about the Explore unit compatibility before you order anything. I am sure the mount companies will catch up, but currently be careful. My issue had nothing to do with Precision Sonar, I just did not ask the right questions before I ordered.
