    Strike King Hybrid Hunter

I wasn't a believer in this bait in the beginning but I have seen it Trigger bites when nothing else will..However my landing ratio is downright pitiful on Larger Fish. I have tried Castledine's System of rod and line.Heavy action rod and 20 Pound Flouro. Then backed it off to a med action and mono with no change. Anyone had this issue and have any suggestions?

I've broken at least a half a dozen bills off of them. I like the bait but don't let it bang around in rock at all.

I have broken bills but, but to me its just like a crankbait or trap..... if they are on the back hook, your ratio will have higher potential to loose fish after hookup. I use both the swank and hybrid hunter.

The shallow nature of the bait means if the fish wants to breach alot this can mean alot of lost fish.

FWIW, using a braided line split ring may help keep the fish pinned a bit better.

I fish mine on the same rod I throw a 10xd on, I have found that having right blend of power and action helps a lot. I fight fish the same way as I would on a 10xd as well.

    To the OP.

Sounds like you need to sharpen or change your hooks. Try the KVD's.

I fish mine on a MH BPS Crankin Stick and seldom loose a fish.

    30 braid, 20 mono leader.
