The stomp switches on my raptors are not what gives me fits. They work just fine. It’s the fob that wants to be a little *****. The down button especially. Other than that, I really like the raptors.

After using the Raptors a full day, I have no idea how I went without them. For shallow water fishing they are an absolute game changer. I probably caught 3+ more fish yesterday just because I could lock down in a spot.

No issues with stomp switches so far.

I know what your saying, but.....

You actually used the phrase "game changer", for a device that has been on boats for approx 20 years before. I mean.....,

I can see that I’ve had boats for 25 years and just had my first set of anchors installed (Raptors) it will be a game changer for me also. I’m really looking forward to be able to slow down in the wind.

You’ll love them, especially if you like fishing shallow.

They help a whole lot, I can do without spot lock or a bunch of expensive graphs, but I will always have poles. I use them more than anything.

People complain about flexing, I mean this is a lesson learned many times. Rigidity brings its own set of problems. Flexing has another set. But Flexibility is not bad. Bridge builders understand this concept. Yes there are limits on how rigid or how flexible something can be before problems start.

Engine manufacturers have learned this lesson, in auto and marine. But somehow some consumers have not learned this.

I say get whatever you want, I choose power pole for the reasons stated above. Good company , good people, excellent CS. I hope they never sell to a PE company, i dunno maybe they have already..

wait what do you want me to share? PE = private equinity.

Don't know the history of PP, not sure if they sold out to any group already. I just assume its under the original ownership.

I have snapped two Raptor spikes in 18 months. I have not snapped a PP spike in 8 years. Minn Kota has replaced them for free, but it is annoying.

they break spikes more often then PP due to the rigidity. people love how solid they feel however comes with a price, but spikes are free replacement, note no pressure relief valve in the raptor pumps so no " drive off protection" like with Powerpole

Let’s get this thread back on track.

I’ve never had either so I went with Raptors I have all Humminbird electronics except my FFS is Garmin and a minn kota trolling motor so I figured I’d get Raptors for the whole one boat network plus I really wanted the silver color. If they cause me any frustrations I will take them off sell them cheap and go power poles.

I have Raptors. The stomp switches and remotes are a pain. Fresh batteries seem to help. They do an excellent job of holding even in heavy wind. If I had to do it again I would get Blades just because of the stomp switch and remote issues (cannot believe they cannot fix this), but I think they were quite a bit more expensive when I bought the Raptors.
