    Re: OKEECHOOBEE ! (bassfishinfool)

The level at Lake "O" is at 10.29 ft. ( 11/28/07) which means that most of the lake level should be around 1.5-2.0 deep. If I was to fish Lake "O" today , I would definitely fish the rim canal or the main waterway out of Clewiston. I would not risk fishing the inside waters of the lake, could damage a lower unit.

PS. Some if these find Anglers that fish Lake"O" daily might give you some more detail information on where the deeper water is on the lake, which will allow you to venture into the lake.......

    Re: OKEECHOOBEE ! (TritonAL 186)

I'm going with my Dad down to his place on Lake O on Dec 26th. Just wondering how the bite is. Last year we had to fish the rim canal since the lake level is down and did pretty good. Any tips on lures, rigs to try would be appreciated! Thanks!

Just a local right here in town... Enough water to get out of Indian Praire, but not enough in the grass. The canals and rim ditch are your best bet for an amateur like me. Consistant catches at J&S, Henry Creek, Taylor Creek, & others. The river has also produced fish, but not as large as the rim canal...

Fished it once for about 30 minutes. Caught one dinker and left. Was actually riding more than fishing. We had dropped the airboat in at Ansin/Garcia crossed the marsh to Blue Cypress, left there and hit Stickmarsh/Farm 13, then back to Garcia. The dink did come from the east side right by a cut into some cypress trees if that helps.... Good luck..
