It all depends on what you want to do. Low maintenance would be a plus if not taking it home.

Same boat as a Z7, mine runs 59 with just me and to much tackle. Gets on plane fine as well. Would a 175 or 200 be better (mine is a 2010 which is rated for 200) sure, but boat still runs fine with a 150.

Yes... With a Tempest Plus.... Runs great with a 22P Bravo1.

Many times "Under powered" Is a sign of a poor set up. Even if it was sold by the dealer/manufacturer that way.

Not really, a 200 is ideal on that hull like the old Z7s had but unfortunately the 175 is all you can get now, still better than a 150.

    Thanks for the input guys.

Looks like I’m heading in the right direction.

Going to have to find a Phoenix and a Bass Cat dealer nearby to get eyes on these new model boats.

if you are going new, I think these are good choices for sure! Dealers don't sell many 18ft class boats and those that buy them tend to hold them for a long time. If looking used, bigger models might be in higher supply meaning you might find a deal easier.

To me if you are going to keep fish in the livewell of a Bass Cat PII . It is a really shallow livewell. LBJ can get rough at times also.
And as a constant level lake It does flood when we get those certain rains

2023 Xpress H18 with 115 SHO that's optioned to fit my wants and pulled by a little Ram.

Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. Just smile and walk away.

This is why I suggested the Xpress since it will be left at a lake house. With the bed liner top cap and Seadek they're about as low maintenance as it gets. They fish great too and don't seem to get blown around much worse than a similar size glass rig depending on which glass rigs you compare them to. Champion boats get blown around worse in my opinion. I was sold on them after fishing out of Arky Archer's old X19 a few years ago. Couldn't even tell we were in a tin rig.

A Skeeter ZX150 would be my choice. Really good balance of price and performance.

But more power cures all including erectile dysfunction!

I wonder how many people are running the wrong prop and bad setup and don't even realize it? My boat also had the wrong dealer installed prop and he rigs every one of them with this prop. Most people also don't put a MUCH heavier trolling motor, two big screens up front, and lithium in the back of this boat either so that probably threw things off by more than just a little. I eventually got it running right with setback and a good 4 blade

That’s a bold statement. It’s wild that they would’ve discontinued the best 18’ bass boat ever built lol
