    Garmin UHD 93SV Locking Up

    Echomap Network Problem

    Problem:

The 93SV at the console either shuts itself off, reboots, or locks when I press any presets (preset 1 is navigation, preset 2 is 2D and ClearVu) after a bit of time (1-2 hours).

    Configuration:
UHD 93SV at console (flush mount)
    Ultra 106SV at bow
    Livescope GLS10
Livescope network cable plugged into 106SV and 93SV network cable plugged into the second network port - no network box in the mix.
All three of these units are supplied with 10AWG marine wiring through an “intelligent” fuse panel. The problem occurred before I rewired and I thought that better power might solve the problem.

    Attempted Solutions:

    1. Replaced network cable – did not fix.
    2. Replaced 93SV with an old Plus 93SV – problem did not occur.
    3. Garmin sent remanufactured UHD 93SV – problem recurred
    4. Replaced 93SV cradle – did not fix

    Notes:

Problem does not manifest if the units are NOT networked.

Problem does not seem to be heat – happens even on cold days no air restriction under console.

I’m thinking of running the devices through an Ethernet switch just to see if it still happens. I’m also considering using a NEMA 2000 network to connect the devices.

I’m open to any thoughts or ideas you have on the subject.

Really odd that it doesn't happen when not networked especially since those presets are not shared.

Have you tried switching what network port on the 106SV you have the LS plugged into?

Have you replaced the power cable for the 93SV?

    Throwing darts here....

    What battery run these units?
    Same update on both?
    No visible corrosion in cradles?
NMEA2000 does not link units, it is for accessories. (heading sensor, radar, engine info, etc)

Mine that i use with livescope froze off & on one day. I went through the compass calibration process. Even though it would fail i done the 2 turns anyway & it worked perfectly until i got a replacement 34 from garmin. May need a software update too.

Have you checked the software on all the units to make sure they are up to date? I don't see why this would make the unit turn off, but as far as the units being networked together this may be something to check.

Units turning off is almost always an intermittent bad power connection somewhere.
