    Holiday Park

Holiday park was on fire today, and no matter what you through at them, they took. I never fished a bait called the ugly otter until today, and they are awsome........dennis

Good deal! Yeah, the Ugly Otter is one of the several copy cat baits for the Reaction Innovation Sweet Beaver. I hear crawdad imitations are the way to go in the canals right now.

    Re: Holiday Park (sawgrassdennis)

My son and I fished Holiday today. Got a few 3-4 lbs flippin in the Miami canal. Water is up about a foot but still low. Water dirty from all the pumping. Center canal was slow. North canal was good.
Sounds dumb but gators did seem aggressive today, we actually had to use a paddle to keep a couple away. Probably we are all a little jumpy down here with all the incidents the past few weeks.

    Re: Holiday Park (canalcritter)

    caught a 10.4 out of the L yesterday...of course on a Saturday
Biggest fish Ive seen out there in a while..looked like it could have been well over 11.5 a few months ago
Water clarity was fine, ALOT of very sad looking fish,healthwise..if we dont get a significant amount of rain real soon, I think you are going to see some serious fish kills out there....

Drastic diet change from flats habitat, hot temps, too much competition for food, and a constant pounding from fisherman, is taking its toll on these fish.
Alot of the fish I caught just gave up after being hooked,,,

    Re: Holiday Park (igs65)

Great catch. Thats the biggest I have heard about in some time. They had a 30 boat TX today and the winner had something like 24 from what I hear. My son only had 14 or so. You say the L cleared up, that is good. I can tell from the canal next to my house that hey have not been pumping much the last few days. I live 2 miles east of Holiday.
