    Boring Football

First let me say I didn't watch last nights game Seattle vs Chicago but with the score 6-3 in favor of the Seahawks I'm guessing this game put many of you boys to sleep.

Hopefully Seattle will not make the playoffs and Chicago, well I just feel sorry for you fans as we have been there and done that. If you get the right GM and then the right HC things will turn around.

Hello NFL, enough with games on Christmas nobody really wants to play on Christmas and no one is really watching them anyways. Football belongs on Sunday's at 1pm. I can't remember the last time Da Bills played on 1pm Sunday game.

65million watched those Christmas Day football games, the “no one is really watching “ is nonsense.

As mentioned earlier, the ratings say otherwise. And they were 5x higher than the slate of NBA games on ABC.

Careful what you wish for. Teams that always play at 1PM Sunday probably suck and only the local fan base are interested in them.

And the games were crap. Just think of they were good what the rating might be.

The NFL announced on Dec. 26, "Christmas was a record-breaking day for Netflix and the NFL, with an unduplicated audience of nearly 65 million U.S. viewers according to Nielsen.

It's not like someone not watching are gonna flip it on after the game starts because it's a so called "good" game. They would not have a clue if it's a good or bad game since they are not tuned in.

When BASS claims big numbers, people don't believe it, but if the almighty NFL says it, must be the truth.

There were 24.3 million viewers watched the Ravens/ Texans game. 24.1 viewers watched the Chiefs/ Steelers game, so that's 48.4 million. I think the same people counted twice does not add up to total viewers. Last year there were 3 games, and the average was 28.68 million so that's about 58 million for any 2 of those games.Still counting same people watching those games, so there was a drop from last year. NBA viewers was up this year, people probably that didn't stream, like me. Btw, was the background sound on the Chief's/ Steelers game louder than normal? I watched the replay on NFL channel and I could barely hear the announcers for all the noise, and that's usually not a problem from that stadium.

Are you sure they are counting people twice? I think k the 65 million includes people who tuned in but possibly did not watch whole game completely.

ESPN has totals for each game, where I got my numbers, That average from last year also came from ESPN. Example, you go to the Bass Classic, you count as 1, you leave the venue , come back, you're another 1. You go there for 3 days, do the same thing, are you counted as 1, or 6? I say 6.

Just the beginning. Christmas falls on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday the next few years. 3 Christmas day games could be coming.

You just better worry about your Bills showing up when/if they see the Chiefs in a few weeks.. they just cant get it done when it comes to that AFC Championship.. I hope they do though, would like to see the Bills and Allen get it done. Fun to watch for sure!

Yeah, the NFL absolutely smoked LeBron and the NBA in viewership on Christmas. I don't like the direction the NFL is heading where at some point NFL will be PPV or damn close to it.

For the all the cord cutters and break up the cable company guys, are we really saving any money with all the damn subscriptions? Programming accessibility has changed for sure but at the end of the day, we're still paying the same money if not more for it.

If the NFL was a stock, I would empty my bank account to own it. I believe the their product has diminished, however the math tells a different story. You won't lose hitching your wagon to the NFL.

I don't think they changed how numbers are tabulated just for this. The way I read it is they had 65 million unique viewers. Some watched it in its entirety and some just tuned in for a bit. I might be wrong but that is how all ratings are tabulated.

I can also see why ESPN wants to put out lower numbers since it was streamed on a non ESPN platform.

You didn't miss anything last evening, no scoring in the second half. That is pitiful.

I think you’re a little off in your assumptions. Lol. Something like 60 plus million watched. I love the Christmas games. We do Christmas the Saturday before. Nothing to do on Christmas Day. Sports, food, and naps are Christmas Day plans for us.

I hate watching football on streaming services because I like to channel hop during commercials and halftime and it's a pain going back and forth. At the rate all the major sporting leagues are going you will need 5 different streaming services to watch all your teams games.
