Went there this afternoon and could not catch a cold. My wife and I fished the brushy creek area, I was graphing fish in about 15 ft of water and threw everything I could think of and no luck. Any Ideas?![]()

I've always had good luck fishing the area between Arlie Moore and the State Park. Right around the Caddo Drive ramp is a good place to start. Before the sun is up, buzzbaits, topwaters and floating worms fished over the grass will get some attention, especially around small points. After about 9 a.m. it's time to find the deep edge of the grass and fish jigs and Texas-rigged worms along the grassline. Some guys like to fish a dropshot or shakey head along the outer edge of the grass too. If the wind is blowing and the surface is choppy, a 3/4-ounce spinnerbait or heavy Rat-L-Trap fished just fast enough to tick the tips of the grass will draw a few strikes as well. During summer, DeGray can be tough. The other option is to go at night. They've been whacking them after dark down there. Check out Get5bass.com and you'll see some night tourney results.
Thanks I have done well there in the spring but after the fish move deep in the summer I have problems .

I like fishing DeGray, but it just feels weird to fish a topwater, fluke or buzzbait while you're sitting in 20 feet of water on a point. Even though you're fishing the top of the grass, it just feels stupid sometimes. But the deep bite on the weed edge can be good with a heavy jig or Texas-rigged worm. I've started fishing the Ark. River lately and it's hard to pull me away from it. Not as scenic as DeGray, but good fishing close.
I agree with fishing the river but when the wife goes we go someplace pretty, so I can't complain about that either.![]()
