That is good news. I wasn't sure how the lower part of the river looked, but it is running hard here at Fort Smith. Good decision......

Very good decision, I know I have been watching the flows closely and it was definetly going to dictate whether I fished it or not come Friday. The way they have been getting rain in OK it was almost impossible for them to plan what the flows were going to be. I was actually thinking they did good to cancel it this far in advance. I know we got dang lucky last week that it came down just long enough to get a TNT in.

How did y'all do in the TNT? I was fishing out of Burns Park the same time it was goin on, but not in the tournament. I would have thrown my money away if I had.

If you don't mind me asking, did you catch them in backwater or the main river? Even though the flow was way down, it was still pretty bad swift.
I went out there yesterday and fished my way up a small creek. The water was muddy even way up the creek. When I finally made it up to where it started to clear, I was into the more stagnant gar and carp water. Something's got to give out there. It's been nearly 2 months!

I believe it will happen, but it probably won't be mid August...might be September by the time it comes around

I do feel the big bass will come from the Dardanelle Pool this year

Re: Ford Big Bass Change! (BrownTrout)

I want to say I remember hearing about a 10 something caught in a tourny early spring this year up there. There's a 9.48 on the Lunker page at get5bass that was caught up there in March.

That's true...10 lbs is the biggest I know of

I will probably be out of Dumas, but isn't it getting affected pretty bad by the high water? Cause Dardanelle is hardly being affected at all It's such a big area that the water is hardly falling or rising

Then again I've never been down around Dumas so I don't know what it's like down there...

lots of backwater down there David, I dont expect this flow is hurting it too bad. Dardanelle will have its share of big fish, but I would put my money on the Dumas pool for the winner.
