what about getting a bbc club together in arkansas, along with some tournaments? I noticed that some other states have bbc tourney trail. Might be able to get some sponsors, and some contingency money. Any takers?![]()

I'd probably be game, although I think we were told a while back that were included in one of the other Midwest bass clubs, it was either Missouri or Kansas, cant remember which one.
Could that be changed? I noticed some other states have a bbc club. Alabama for example.
I get really tired of all the local t trails hitting the same ol lakes over and over.
Hey ditchdigger, here's a link to the post I mentioned earlier http://www.bbcboards.net...58631 it was to combine us with the MO club. I guess if we have enough guys/gals on here that want to get one going we could ask Al and see what he says about it.![]()
I just sent an email to al about us getting our own club. I don't think combining with MO club is in anyone's best interest, unless we did two different divisions. If we had one division it would be to much driving for the tournaments, and cut down attendance
Skeeter Jay, how many people do you think we could get interested in a bbc club and t-trail? I would like to get one started that would run from late jan. all the way to late oct. The late oct. tourney being a classic on some lake that we draw out of a hat. Maybe a team tourney trail with an $70.00 entry fee plus an opt. $10.00 big bass pot. I would like to hit some lakes that the other guys don't hit.
I agree, thats why I didnt get too excited when they posted that originally. I dont see myself driving that far to fish a T, I just dont have the time or money. But there are some guys up in north Arkansas that could benefit from it. Let us know what you find out.![]()
I honestly wouldnt have a clue how many, there are so many guys that just lurk on here that might be interested, so it would be hard to put a number on it. Probably the best thing to do would be put a post up asking who all would be interested and see how many bites you get.
Personally I think if we did it and wanted it to be sucessful we might would want to have a little lower entry, maybe around the $50 a team plus big bass, especially with the price of gas like it is these days![]()
I don't see a problem with adding an Arkansas Bass Club, but not sure about the $70. entry fee. To be honest, I haven't checked what all of the other clubs do re entry fees and I'm sure that there's some variance in what they do re entry fees, but the clubs are more to just have fun.
As far as membership from Arkansas, we show over 450 members (not all have posted).
Skeeter jay,
what about hitting some of the smaller lakes that the big tourneys don't hit? Lakes like blue mountain, nimrod, winona, white oak, columbia, erling, norfork, white river @ newport/batesville. Might even hit dequeen gillham, and dierks in the wintertime, when we don't have a lot of boats. Whatcha think?![]()
Skeeter jay, I think $50.00 would be just fine. What about some of the smaller lakes?
al,
What is involved in starting a bbc club in Arkansas?
I would think the best thing would be to post in the Lounge and also General Topics and see how much interest there would be to an Arkansas bass club. I can pin the posts and we'll see how much interest there is.
Al,
I noticed that there is a get together coming up at lake dardenelle for all the local bbc members. I posted my idea a few minutes ago in that discussion, hope to get some input from there. I will also post my idea at those other placesasap.
Al,
posted a discussion of AR bbc club on bbc lounge. Can you keep track of hits
I would guess the best democratic way to figure all this out is to first see how many are interested in doing it. Then once we've established that, we could have people post what lakes they would like to see us fish and what kind of entry fees people would like to see. Seems like I have seen where some of these other clubs fish more for bragging rights than money. I am fine with having some money involved, but I will say that I'm not really into fishing a lake that is a long enough distance away that would require an overnight stay, which thats where the problem kicks in, whats a local lake for me may be a 3hr drive for someone living in south Arkansas.![]()
might have to have a north and south division like alabama. How would we guage interest?
Maybe have two divisions, and the classic be anywhere statewide, including both divisions
Lets get this north division going the fishing is just getting good
It'll be next year probably. Are you coming to the meeting at dardanelle on jun2?
